Rights and requests

Report copyright infringement.

Copyright owners and authorized representatives can ask SyncUp to review infringing material. Being pictured in a photo does not by itself make you its copyright owner. For intimate content shared without consent, use the separate intimate-image removal process.

Send your request by email

Send to legal@syncuptechnologies.com with the subject SyncUp Copyright Notice. You may use your own email service. Opening the email link or reading this page does not submit a request; you must send the email. You do not need to create a SyncUp account.

Information to include

  • Copyright owner or authorized representative name
  • Reply email
  • Mailing address
  • Telephone number
  • Identify the copyrighted work, or a representative list of works
  • Identify the material and provide enough information to locate it
  • Physical or electronic signature

Include these statements

  • I have a good-faith belief that the complained-of use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  • The information in this notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, I am the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner’s behalf.

General copyright contact

Send complaints to legal@syncuptechnologies.com. This is a general rights-complaint mailbox. This page does not identify a registered DMCA designated agent or represent that Copyright Office registration has been completed. Any formal designated-agent details will be published separately with the corresponding registration.

Notices and review

Include the work, the material and its location, your contact information, a signature, a good-faith statement concerning authorization, and an accuracy and authority statement under penalty of perjury. We review notices and act expeditiously where appropriate. We may provide the notice to the uploader, including contact details needed for the process. Do not include unrelated sensitive information.

Counter-notices

If your material was removed by mistake or misidentification, email legal@syncuptechnologies.com with the subject SyncUp Copyright Counter-Notice. Include your signature; the material and its former location; your name, address and telephone number; and a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief removal resulted from mistake or misidentification. Also state that you consent to the jurisdiction of the Federal District Court for the judicial district where your address is located, or, if your address is outside the United States, any judicial district where SyncUp may be found, and will accept service of process from the original notice sender or their agent. We may forward your counter-notice to the claimant.

Restoration and repeat infringement

Where the DMCA counter-notice process applies, we promptly provide a valid counter-notice to the claimant and tell them eligible material will be restored in 10 business days. We restore that material between 10 and 14 business days after receipt of the counter-notice unless we first receive notice that the claimant has filed a court action seeking to restrain the activity. An independent safety or other lawful restriction may still apply. Our policy provides for terminating repeat-infringer accounts in appropriate circumstances and accommodating applicable standard technical measures. Knowingly false notices or counter-notices can create liability.
